morning. this board is for people who sleep in their trucks for a living, or are about to start. owner-operators leased on to a carrier, owner-operators on their own numbers, and company drivers sitting in a truck stop at midnight trying to work out if the jump pays.
about me since you will see my name a lot. ron, 31 years over the road, the last 14 leased on hauling steel and lumber on a flat. retired two winters ago with 2.9 million miles and a W900L i still think about. i live in Cheyenne now, i read every report, and i answer the mod mailbox after supper.
the rules fit on one screen:
- fill in your rig line. year, make, model, engine and rating, transmission, what you pull, leased on or your own authority. it prints under your name so nobody has to ask.
- money threads need numbers. what you paid, rate per mile, fuel, insurance. if you would rather not share, that is fine, then sit out the arguments about other people's numbers.
- no recruiting, no load postings, no trucks for sale. recruiters are gone on the first post.
- nothing about getting around hours of service or fooling an ELD. those posts get deleted and so does the account if it happens twice.
- dealer people, shop people, carrier people, brokers: say who signs your checks in your rig line.
the buying board is where people tell us what they bought, where it came from and what it cost to get it inspected and plated. those threads help the next guy more than anything else on here, so please write them.
